Competition results of the 1st co-production competition of the National Film Centre (NFC) 2026 supported the production of 5 films, where Latvia is a minority co-producer. 

The aim of the competition is to support international film co-productions, in which the Latvian production company participates as a minority co-producer.  

20 project applications (3 animated films, t.sk. two feature films and one short film, 3 documentaries and 14 feature films) were submitted for evaluation by the competition committee with a total request for funding of EUR 1 917 571. 

The projects submitted in the competition were evaluated by NFC feature film expert Andris Gauja, documentary film expert Andis Mizišs, animation expert Ieva Viese and NFC Head of Film Production Inga Blese. 

Competition funding of EUR 250 000 was distributed for the production of 1 feature-length animated film, 1 short animated film and 3 feature films.
