On March 11, the documentary film festival CPH:DOX opened in Copenhagen, the industry section of which from March 15 will also include professionals from Latvia, united in a specially organized delegation of documentary film producers.

The CPH:DOX festival (this year from March 11 - 22) is one of the most important documentary film festivals on a European scale, and a year ago the Baltic States participated in it for the first time as special delegations. Also this year, producers from all three countries are going to Copenhagen to meet and collaborate with delegations of documentarians from 16 other countries around the world.

The festival's industry section CPH: INDUSTRY (since 2007) is designed with a deliberate focus on creative cooperation between cinematography, journalism, science, new technologies and changes in society, it is a platform that supports innovative and risk-ready documentary cinema in various formats – feature films, series, new media.

CPH: INDUSTRY annually welcomes delegations of producers from all over the world, offering them a special plan of industry events, specially designed programs and networking events. The programme of each delegation is adapted to the specific objectives of its members, which provides producers with contacts with the necessary professionals and institutions to promote the creation of new projects. Producers included in delegations participate in industry discussions, where they meet with film financiers, broadcasters, sales agents, art curators, galleries, recognized international producers and representatives of influence bodies.

During the forum, there is also a special event Meet the Delegations – Presentations & Networking Roundtables, dedicated to international co-productions. Delegation organisers offer insights into their countries' co-production opportunities, while delegation participants talk about their documentary film projects in a roundtable format, which are being developed in search of co-production partners and other forms of cooperation.

This year's Latvian delegation includes four producers – Guntis Trekteris (Ego Media), Melanija Gulbe (Mistrus Media), Liene Ulmane (Documentary), Uldis Cekulis (VFS Films); the delegation is led by film scientist and head of the documentary film forum Baltic Sea Docs Zane Balčus, a representative of the National Film Centre.

The participation of the Latvian delegation in the festival is supported by the National Film Centre.
