From December 1 - 5, representatives of the Latvian animation industry participated in the film industry event "Ties That Bind" in Singapore, which was organized to promote European animation and strengthen cooperation between European and Asian animation filmmakers. An important aspect of this visit was the success story of the Latvian film "Flow".

The Ties That Bind programme is one of the cycles of events organized by EAVE (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs), a professional collaboration platform for European film organizations founded and supported by the Creative Europe MEDIA Foundation. Ties That Bind (TTB) is a leading European-Asian co-production training program in which participants work with industry professionals from both continents. In December 2025, the TTB was held in partnership with the Singapore International Film Festival and the Asian TV Forum & Market (ATF). The program included 8 animated film projects from Europe and Asia, including the future project of the Latvian studio Atom Art – the film Oscar and Things (Oskars un lietas) by Edmunds Jansons.

An important highlight of the event programme was several public presentations, the focus of which was on the success story of Latvian animation – film Flow by Gints Zilbalodis. The nuances of creating and promoting this project in different audiences were told by the producer of the film and co-author of the script Matīss Kaža. The filled audiences and questions from the interested audience suggested that Flow is also known in Singapore and the phenomenon of the making and success of this film is a topic that continues to interest professional audiences in the world.

Sabīne Andersone, producer of Atom Art, represented Latvia in working sessions dedicated to the development of animation projects and possible cooperation between European and Asian countries.

Representatives of Latvia also visited the Embassy of the EU Delegation in Singapore, where they were welcomed by Ambassador Artis Bērtulis. Options for further promotion of Latvian animation in Singapore were discussed. Dita Rietuma, the head of the National Film Centre of Latvia, met with representatives of the Singaporean film industry, including Kenneth Tan, head of the Singapore Film Society, to discuss possible cooperation in film production and the screening of Latvian animated films in this country.
