During the school summer break, nine-year-old Elisabeth joins her family in the Venezuelan rainforest. Now that she has made new friends at her city school, life in the jungle no longer appeals to her. She also doesn't want to look after her youngest brother, Leo. When her parents leave urgently for the city to see a doctor, Elisabeth, absorbed in a book, doesn’t notice that Leo disappears into the mysterious jungle. This is just the beginning of an extraordinary adventure. Elisabeth must face her fears and set out to find Leo before her parents return, to discover not only her courage, sensitivity, and close bond with her little brother, but also a secret hidden in the jungle.
