This mini-series follows a family of urban intellectuals over the course of one summer in the 1920s. They unexpectedly take over a remote manor house complete with its unusual inhabitants and must decide what to do with the dilapidated property. Exciting and comic events unfold over eight episodes as the budding writer Anšlavs Eglītis and his family begin restoring the manor and at the same time open a boarding house. The property ultimately becomes a crossroads for the neighborhood, a ghost of the past, and a meeting point and summer stage for the locals and visitors.
